Karole White

Karole White is President/CEO of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters, the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation and the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Service Corp, Inc and the Executive Director of the Michigan Association of Public Broadcasters.

When Ms. White arrived at the MAB more than 25 years ago, the organization had a part time executive director a few boxes of files and about $150,000 dollars in the bank. The membership was only at about 50 % of potential. With the help of very positive board members,. Ms White grew the MAB to become one of the most respected trade associations in the state and among the best state broadcaster associations in the nation.. MAB now has a membership penetration of 89%.

Prior to joining the MAB, Ms. White was the Executive Vice President Director for the Michigan Floral Association, the Executive Director of the MFA Health Insurance Trust, the managing director of MFA Federal Credit Union and President, Executive Director MAB Floral Service Inc. White has been in Association Management in the Greater Lansing area for over 30 years. She has served in executive positions with the Michigan Funeral Directors Association, United States Cheerleaders Association, Muscular Dystrophy Association and was a partner in BKM Advertising and Display Company.

Ms. White received her broadcasting back ground through advertising as Marketing Director for Forbes Cohen Properties in Lansing and as Telethon Manager for MDA. She has been honored with numerous awards, including most recently induction into the Michigan Society of Association Executives Hall of Fame and the Citizen's Medal of Honor from the National Guard. A life time learner, Ms. White attended Lansing Business University, Lansing Community College and Michigan State University.

Tom Hahn

Executive Vice-President of Finance

Tom Hahn is the Executive Vice President of Finance for the MAB and its entities. He has been with the MAB since 2003 and handles accounting and finance for the organization. Before joining the MAB, he was in the banking industry, primarily in commercial lending. Hahn has a BBA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Michigan State.

His interests include reading and golf.

Dan Kelley

Web/IT Manager

Dan Kelley is the Web and IT Manager for the MAB. He joined the association in 2007, following a 30+ year career in radio that started during high school in suburban Chicago. He has been a station Program Director, Operations Director, Station Manager, Chief Engineer and on-air talent. His background includes stops at CBS Radio, Clear Channel Communications and Citadel Broadcasting. In addition to his work at the MAB, Dan also operates a nationally-recognized online radio station. He attended Columbia College and William Rainey Harper College in Chicago.

Dan resides in Okemos with his wife Jodi and two sons.

Jennifer Preslar, CMP CAE

Executive Director of Programs

Jennifer Preslar is the Executive Director of Programs for the MAB and manages the Board of Directors, oversees all of the association’s programs, including educational events and conventions, as well as special projects. She is a certified meeting professional (CMP) and Certified Association Executive (CAE). She has worked for several Michigan associations including the Michigan State Medical Society and Michigan Association of School Boards. Preslar also worked on a national level while at Minding Your Business, Inc. in Chicago. Her national experience includes planning and implementing conventions for the Independent Community Bankers of America, American Marketing Association, Schneider Electric International, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and others. Jennifer attended Parson’s School of Design, Lansing Community College and is a graduate of Davenport University.

She resides in Lansing with her husband Tom.

 

Julie Sochay

Executive Vice President, MAB Foundation /
Director of Communications

Julie Sochay is the Executive Vice President of the MAB Foundation as well as the Communications Director for the MAB and its entities. Starting at the MAB as a communications assistant in 1998, she has worked in various capacities over the years at the MAB. She currently manages all aspects of the MAB Foundation including the Board of Directors, student educational programs, awards programs, fundraising and special projects. In addition, she manages all aspects of communications including graphic design, brand management of all entities, web content, electronic and print publications and advertising. Julie has a BA from Michigan State University in Journalism.

She resides in Potterville with her husband Stan, two kids and beloved Golden Retriever.
