Campaign: "Awareness Campaign"
Details:
There are about 16,000 children in Michigan’s foster care children. Of those, about 4,000 children are available for adoption because they are state or court ward after parental rights were terminated by a court and are now awaiting a “forever family.” With your support, we can recruit more foster and adoptive parents so these children, who were removed from their homes for abuse or neglect, can have a safe and loving home.
Developed by the Ad Council in partnership with AdoptUsKids, this campaign will build awareness about the need for foster and adoptive parents, and about the foster care and adoption process. It directs interested parties to a toll-free line (888-200-4005) and centralized Web site (www.adoptuskids.org).
Radio spots and scripts are available in English and in Spanish. The Spanish-language campaign directs people to call toll-free 877-236-7831 or to visit www.adopte1.org.
We know that more than 22 percent of the families who have contacted AdoptUsKids through the national campaign are now working with agencies to complete their home studies to adopt.
So help us get the message out in Michigan – and compel people to action. Help the 16,000 children in Michigan’s foster care system have a safe and stable home.
