BCBC A Success! Thank you to ALL who attended and supported this year's conference!
The 2012 Broadcasting Career Builder Conference (BCBC), presented by the MAB Foundation, saw more than 200 attendees and featured excellent networking opportunities such as the Speed Networking SUPER Session and Career Café. Attendees and mentors alike commented on the excellent opportunity this year’s BCBC offered.
In its seventh year, BCBC serves to encourage, educate and support students and young professionals in Michigan as they navigate their broadcast media career path. This year’s mentors and presenters represented different careers in radio, television and media offering attendees a valuable experience that included many networking opportunities and one-to-one interaction.
Here is what just a few attendees had to say about their BCBC experience:
"The BCBC was a wonderful opportunity for me to network with a wider range of professionals, and students, that I normally don't see at Mount Pleasant-area career fairs."
-Erin Calhoun, Central Michigan University
“BCBC gave me the opportunity to interact with professionals across Michigan in a close knit and intimate environment. BCBC allowed me to better prepare for post graduation, giving me the opportunity to ask questions and become familiar with what stations are looking for out of students once they’ve graduated college and are entering the workforce.”
-Ashley Raymond, Central Michigan University
“BCBC helps broadcasting students establish necessary carrier paths through self-application and networking. I feel confident that I have the skills to secure a broadcasting position.”
-Winston Parker, Andover High School
“I’m glad I attended BCBC because it was a fantastic opportunity to connect face-to-face with Michigan’s experts and receive valuable advice for earning jobs in broadcasting.”
-Marvis Herring, Grand Valley State University
