Mission StatementThe Michigan Association of Public Broadcasters is a partnership created to serve the people of the State of Michigan through the growth of public broadcasting The mission of Michigan Association of Public Broadcasters (MAPB) is to serve the citizens of Michigan through the encouragement and support of the development, growth and the coordination of public broadcasting throughout Michigan. Public broadcasting is unique in its commitment and ability to serve Michigan's citizens. Through a partnership of its radio and television stations, bonded together by a critical interdependency, MAPB provides a forum for the development of the ways in which public broadcasting can serve the State of Michigan. MAPB, as a prime statewide resource for communications technology, can become a catalyst for action through timely examination and presentation of statewide issues. It can augment the impact of state agencies and assist the individual stations and communities. Committed to sharing and interpreting the resources and experience of Michigan with the nation and the world; As a participatory enterprise, public broadcasting ties together each station's community based publics. It is an integral part of Michigan's quality of life, a story it tells every day of the year through a myriad of programming and services. MAPB encourages and enhances the sharing of the knowledge of individual communities with the entire state.
