About the MAB Michigan Broadcasting Hall of Fame

The MAB Michigan Broadcasting Hall of Fame was established in 2001 by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. It serves to recognize Michigan broadcasters for their leadership, achievement and contributions to the industry and communities they serve.

The MAB has been awarding its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award since 1989. Each Lifetime Achievement Award winner is automatically included in the Hall of Fame.

Inductions into the Hall of Fame take place during the MAB Annual Meeting and Management Retreat each summer. The ceremony is open to all broadcasters. For more information, visit the annual conference web page or phone MAB at (517) 484-7444.

Hall of Fame inductees are chosen based on their distinguished professional career in Michigan broadcasting. Each inductee's career has exemplified integrity, innovation, achievement and leadership. Their contributions to the industry have been a positive influence on individuals in the profession. Inductees hold any position within the radio or television industry. There are no limitations on the number of individuals inducted into the Hall of Fame in any given year.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is MAB's highest honor. This award honors a Michigan broadcast pioneer, living or posthumously, who has dedicated the majority of his/her professional career to broadcasting and has distinguished himself/herself through a lifetime of service as a top manager or owner in Michigan through excellence in broadcasting, industry leadership and community involvement. This is the highest honor given by the MAB.

Each spring, the MAB accepts nominations for inductees. Any person can nominate a broadcaster. The MAB Board of Directors then selects the inductees for the year. Those broadcasters not inducted remain on the list of nominees for future years. To nominate a broadcaster, contact MAB to receive an official nomination form.
