A Station of the Year Award may be presented in each market category for commercial radio and television. Station of the Year is based on five categories. For commericial television these categories are Investigative Story, Weathercast, Sports, Newscast and Community Involvement. In Commercial radio, Station of the Year is based on the categories of Newscast, Commercial, Marketing Materials and Promos, Community Involvement and Personality. In public radio and television, Station of the Year is based on the highest points earned from all categories.
