On October 1, 1973, WKAR Radio at Michigan State University launched a special audio service to provide news, information, and entertainment to those with trouble seeing or reading the printed word. WKAR Public Media (East Lansing) has announced that Amy Robinson has joined its staff as News Director.  Robinson most recently was News Director at WCMU Public Media in Mount Pleasant.  There she supervised WCMU’s reporters and ran a summer internship program for Central Michigan University students pursuing a career in journalism.

Julie Sochay Joins Florida PBS Station

On June 29, WUCF-FM-TV (Orlando) announced that Julie Sochay has been named the Director of Content. The station is home to Central Florida’s PBS channel and to 89.9 FM Jazz & More, which serves as a joint licensee with the University of Central Florida. Sochay comes to WUCF from a career at WKAR Public Media in East Lansing, Michigan, where she served as the Senior Director of Content and Communication.
