WFUR-FM Sold to Bible Broadcasting Network

On February 27, an application was filed with the FCC to transfer to license of WFUR-FM (Grand Rapids) from Furniture City Broadcasting Corporatiion to Bible Broadcasting Network of Charlotte, NC.  WFUR-FM has been owned by Furniture City and the Kuiper family since it signed on in 1960.

The Kuiper family, through Furniture City Broadasting will continue to own WFUR-AM (Grand Rapids) and translator W225BL (Grand Haven) as well as WKPR-AM (Kalamazoo) and translator W286AU (Kalamazoo).  The Kalamazoo stations are licensed to Kalamazoo Broadcasting Company, Inc.

Bible Broadcasting Network is licensee/permittee of 48 stations throughout the country.  The application notes that Bible Broadcasting Network will convert the license of WFUR-FM to non-commercial status.
