WILX-TV “Give Blood Telethon” Nets 100+ Donation Appointments

On January 22, Gray Television’s WILX-TV (Lansing) partnered with the American Red Cross and Townsquare Media’s WITL-FM to host the Give Blood Telethon.  The telethon aired from 5-8 p.m. and more than 112 blood-donation appointments were scheduled during that time. Many of the people who made those appointments were first-time donors. A single donation provides potentially life-saving help for up to three people.

Earlier in the week, the station reported that Red Cross had a critical shortage of type O blood, with less than a three-day supply of type O blood available for a patient in the case of an emergency.
